Do you avoid wearing shorts or a bathing suit because you don’t like your body? I used to. In fact, for an entire decade I never wore shorts, a bathing suit or even went to the beach.
I even paid someone every week to airbrush tan me so I wouldn’t be so embarrassed about my pasty-white skin and cellulite. That’s how uncomfortable and critical I was about my body.
I couldn’t look in a mirror without zoning in on the things that were unacceptable to me, and I walked around feeling like a health and fitness fraud: Wearing my black yoga pants and a happy face, while hiding just about everything else.
I share this because last week, when my girl Sage Lavine suggested we drop trou at a nude beach and splash in the water, I didn’t think twice about it. Even with my unshaven, pasty-white legs and my cellulite.
I stripped down and stood knee deep in the water while she frolicked around. It was fun and we had a ball.
So what shifted for me? How did I go from being obsessed and hating on my body to all of a sudden being comfortable in my skin and ok being me?
I can tell you how I didn’t do it.
It wasn’t by counting my macros.
It wasn’t by figuring out how to have more control.
What freed me from the prison of body hatred and perfection was discovering how to be comfortable in my skin.
Which is why this Friday’s training in the Congruence Collective Facebook Group is all about this!
Join the group right now here and tune in ready to learn this Friday, May 18 at 1 PM PST/ 2 PM MT / 3 PM CT / 4 PM ET.
If you want a little sneak peak at what we’ll be discussing, watch this video:
It’s lonely when you’re ashamed of your body and holding back on truly living. It’s embarrassing too. If anyone else knew how much you obsess about your body or think about food…
But if you’re done with the hiding and holding back and you’re ready to get free so you can just be comfortable and confident being you, then click here to join us Friday May 18 at 1 PM PST and find out how.
And make sure to leave a comment sharing what being comfortable in your skin and confident being you will give you the freedom to do!
In dedication of all of you,
